Welcome to the nesthouple’s first wedding banquet venue review! Here we wish to give prospective wedding couples ideas – be it on wedding banquet venues, photoshoots and decorations. The nesthouple sees delight in sharing the gems we find along the way, as we gear towards holding our very own wedding! 🙂
Orchard Hotel Singapore has the honour to be the first hotel wedding banquet covered by us, a hotel managed by Millennium and Copthorne International. Its umbrella of hotels include the Grand Copthorne Waterfront, Copthorne King’s, M Hotel, etc. Orchard Hotel is located in the vicinity of Orchard MRT, about 10 minutes walk from the MRT station.
The reception might not be spacious enough when more guests start gathering at the reception area.
The main ballroom covers ballrooms 1 and 2 which houses 40 to 55 tables. It is able to accommodate minimum 35 tables depending on prevailing demand.
Room layout of the day’s event.
Ballroom 3 is beside ballrooms 1 and 2 and it caters up to 32 tables. Couples can consider this ballroom as an alternative if they have fewer guests.
We had a chance to meet the catering manager. He revealed that corkage fee is waived off, which is not something all hotels provide. Furthermore, Hua Tin Restaurant provides the banquet food and this is a plus point for couples who emphasize on food quality. The manager revealed that each table will be charged an extra $60 in 2015 compared to 2014.
Booking banquets later usually tend to incur higher cost as hotels may deem they have reached enough orders for the year and have no qualm in charging fees for couples who book later.
The manager also shared that there will be a wedding show at Dhoby Ghaut on 9-10 Jan. Stay tuned!
